This is because the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is still studying whether they will grant the price adjustments petitioned by manufacturers.

The DA intends to run the TRO as “a specialized and dedicated office” to comply with the legal and administrative requirements and enhance its capacity to address trade remedy matters.

MANILA, Philippines —  Twenty-one out of the 29 police officers who were ordered arrested in connection with the mishandled P6.7 billion drug case are now under the custody of the Philippine National Police (PNP).

Last January 15, the Manila Regional Trial Court (RTC) ordered the arrest of 29 police officers involved in the bungling of the prosecution of arrested personalities implicated in the P6.7 billion shabu case in October 2022.

PNP Spokesperson Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo said one of the nine active and former police officers at large was arrested last January 31, bringing the total number of apprehended officials from 20 to 21. 

“Walo na lamang po yung at large, dahil may isa pa po tayong nahuli nung January 31 yung isa sa active police personnel ay nahuli na po at ngayon ay nasa custody ng CIDG (Criminal Investigation and Detection Group),” Fajardo said in a press conference on Monday.

(Only eight remain at large since we already arrested one last January 31.. He is among the active personnel. He is now under CIDG’s custody.)

She identified the arrested official as Sgt. Arnold Tibay. 

On April 10, 2023, then-Interior Secretary Benjamin Abalos Jr. identified the police officers involved in the alleged attempt to cover up the shabu case. 

The alleged cover-up was in connection with the arrest of dismissed Police Master Sergeant Rodolfo Mayo Jr., who yielded 990 kilograms of shabu.
